This lovely community lies north of Dallas and covers 62.9 square miles with a population of 131,117 residents. Money Magazine deemed McKinney the “5th best place to live in America” in one of the publication’s 2010 issues. The local school system includes 19 elementary schools, five middle schools and four high schools. The community also has the Central Park Campus of Collin College. The main attraction of this city revolves around the historic Victorian town square, which has numerous restaurants and stores. The square also serves as the backdrop for a number of community events held during the year. McKinney has over 1,700 historic buildings and homes located throughout the city. Outdoor fans find 27 parks situated around McKinney. Parks offer everything from open spaces with sprawling lawns to pleasantly shaded trails along lakes. The locations also provide designated areas for all types of outdoor sports.
